These Terms govern your use of EasyBookSummary (“EBS”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1) Agreement to Terms

Welcome to EasyBookSummary (“EBS,” “we,” “us,” “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our websites, products, and services (collectively, the “Service”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent you have authority to bind that organization; “you” includes both you and that organization.

2) What We Do (Service Description)

EBS provides AI-generated, structured summaries of books based on user-submitted titles and publicly available information. Summaries are transformative digests for informational and educational use only.

We do not host or distribute full book texts and do not facilitate piracy.
We may display or reference source names for transparency. Where applicable, we attribute material per the relevant license (e.g., CC BY-SA for Wikipedia).
We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any author, publisher, retailer, or rights holder.

3) Eligibility

You must be capable of entering a binding contract in your jurisdiction. The Service is not directed to children where prohibited by local law.

4) Changes to the Service & Terms

We may modify or discontinue the Service (in whole or in part) at any time. We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with a new “Last Updated” date. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

5) Your Responsibilities (Acceptable Use)

Do not use the Service to infringe copyrights or solicit/provide pirated content.
Do not copy or distribute summaries as a substitute for the original work or in violation of fair-use/quotation limits.
Do not misrepresent summaries as the original book or as authoritative scholarship.
Do not scrape, bulk-download, or train models on Service content without our prior written consent.
Do not attempt to interfere with security, integrity, or rate limits, or use the Service unlawfully.

6) Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Rights

The Service (including site design, UI, trademarks, and proprietary code) is owned by EBS or our licensors and protected by IP laws. Except as expressly allowed, no license is granted by implication, estoppel, or otherwise.

6.2 AI-Generated Summaries — Your License to Use

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and personally use summaries for informational/educational purposes. Any commercial use, republication, distribution, or model-training use requires our prior written permission.

6.3 Attribution & Third-Party Licenses

Where summaries reference or include material requiring attribution (e.g., Wikipedia under CC BY-SA), we provide notices on the page. You agree to preserve all attribution/license notices and comply with third-party terms.

6.4 Feedback

If you send ideas or suggestions, you grant EBS a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use them without restriction or compensation.

7) AI Output; No Professional Advice

Summaries are automatically generated by AI and may contain errors or omissions. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” for informational and educational purposes only and does not constitute legal, financial, academic, medical, or other professional advice. Always consult the original work.

8) Copyright Concerns; Takedown Requests

We respect intellectual property. If you are a rights holder and believe material infringes your rights, email legal@easybooksummary.com with:

Your contact information;
Identification of the work claimed to be infringed;
The exact URL(s) of the material at issue;
A statement of good-faith belief that use is not authorized; and
A statement (and, where applicable, under penalty of perjury) that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act.

Upon receipt of a complete notice, we will review and take appropriate action in good faith.

9) Privacy

Our collection and use of information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to those practices.

10) Third-Party Links & Services

The Service may reference third-party websites, catalogs, or APIs. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices. References do not imply endorsement.

11) Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, TITLE, AND QUIET ENJOYMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

12) Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EBS, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; LOST PROFITS OR REVENUES; LOSS OF DATA; OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.

IN NO EVENT WILL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED USD $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US (IF ANY) IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM—WHICHEVER IS GREATER. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits; in those places our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

13) Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless EBS and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any rights of another.

14) Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service (in whole or in part) at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, pose risk, or for operational reasons. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

15) Governing Law; Dispute Resolution

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and EBS. If any provision is held unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the remainder will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our prior consent; we may assign without restriction. We are not liable for delays or failures due to events beyond our reasonable control (force majeure).
